After the successful conference held in Hoofddorp / Amsterdam October 22nd - 24th 2007, in which representatives from 20 countries participated, it's a fact the European Network has been established and will continue to develop in the direction and taking into account the conditions / characteristics as discussed and agreed upon during this conference.

To realise the objectives and to facilitate the required (further) development we do need your strong involvement and support. The consortium members will be available to provide assistance to you, your organisation and / or country. Together we will be in position to extend the END and to strengthen the ongoing cooperation and quick exchange of expertise and 'best-practices'. The multi-disciplinary and consortium approach has been proven successful and the added value of our network (including the website as a platform) has been clearly identified and recognised. Encouraging and a challenge to continue together in this END to achieve all objectives and to strive for extension and collaboration with all partners (all actors including organisations) in the complex domain of drugs and precursors.

One of the priorities and most important for the coming year is to support / facilitate the establishment of National Network Structures (e.g. like the Dutch NND). Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any support and take advantage of the END website, especially you National Forum.

As promised during the conference we will make available a Power Point presentation on both, the NND as an example and the END in which added value, characteristics and directions are pointed out. Making use of these materials will automatically lead to harmonisation at END (European) level. We'll do our best and truly believe that with your support the END will become and remain successful.
