The END characteristics or profile is based on previous positive experiences. The need for an END has been identified by fieldworkers and policymakers. Existing expertise, initiatives, structures and organisations were taken into account. END is in favour of and stimulates a multi-disciplinary / multi-agency approach. Also public private partnership (PPP) e.g. cooperation with industry and trade has been recognised as useful and necessary from a perspective of shared responsibility. The END has an added value and supports to the daily work. Due to END's transparent and open character its obvious that NO personal or restricted / sensitive data are used. The great advantage of this is that data protection rules are not applicable and information and expertise can be shared in a quick and informal way. END takes into account and respects existing policies, legislation and initiatives. So END does not reinvent the wheel and prevents duplication of efforts.

In principle END as a network, using the (secured) website as a platform, connects professionals, organisations, institutions and their expertise.
